Better late than never is the best cliche for my laziness. I begin counting down the Best Rock Albums of 2010. Sure that you will find some gems in the list and spread great music through your world.
Teargarden By Kaleidyscope: Vol. 1 [EP]
There’s nothing worse than losing touch with one of the hero bands from my youth except for them losing touch with me. Smashing Pumpkins got a bit lost but Billy Corgan found some rope and tied himself to the concept that the album format is dead. It’s true to a big degree in that much of the world no longer worship bands but the momentary single instead. So Billy Corgan decided to start a lengthy project called Teargarden by Kaleidyscope in which 44 songs will be gradually released for free. With every 4, an official E.P. will be available from stores such as iTunes. The first is called Teargarden by Kaleidyscope: Vol. 1 – Songs For a Sailor and it gives me an excuse to post the single release from the previous year – ‘Song for a Son’ is one of the greatest Smashing Pumpkin’s songs! As there have been no official videos so far, it’s thanks to Jon the Dandy for his YouTube effort. There are currently 10 Smashing Pumpkins songs available for free download here.
