Last night, September 30 2012, i began a fast.
Part of it is a silent protest against the corruption in my town of Knysna. The other is to seek clarity on the merits of my efforts to fight it. I have to decide whether or not i will close my websites; Love Knysna, Knysna Keep, Knysna Schools and Knysna Crime Watch. It’s a big decision for me because i will be admitting that corruption and apathy have won, that destroyers of our beautiful town (Mayor Georlene Wolmarans, Deputy Mayor Michelle Wasserman, Colonel Michael Nolans etc.) get away with it. Giving up my belief that “evil only needs good men to do nothing” would be life altering…for me.
On the momentary bright side, it’s an opportunity to take a selfish breath and listen to great music that i’ll loud-hail here.
Music has always being a love but i gradually, destructively, allowed the world and my activism to replace passion with disgust and hate so that my hobbies took a back-step. It’s appropriate that i combat that now, love again and give love back.
I’ll occasionally feature a band or artist that knows how to stand up for themselves (promoting others to do the same) and rebel against the misconceptions society and government force on us in the hope that we forget the joy of being individuals and relinquish our freedom.
This week is a tribute to Amanda Palmer and her cohorts. Check for news and reviews daily.
