Poor Feng Jiamei! 7 months pregnant when 5 men from the Chinese authorities held her down, with a pillow over her head, and aborted her baby with injections through her belly into the baby’s head. It took 2 days of pain before the dead baby evacuated.
The world never stops finding ways to sicken me. I share some of these tragic stories with you in the hope that controversy and horror force you to overcome your human fallibility to hide and instead look more into these subjects so that you have a real opinion.
I’ve yet to make a steadfast opinion on abortion and a woman’s right to choose. I hold no religion so it’s awareness that counts. That time limit for evacuation isn’t clear but if it’s in the green zone and prevents a mother’s life being destroyed, or the child inheriting a life of suffering or being unwanted, i tend to understand. And none of us in the West can understand the challenges that China, with its 1.3 billion people face. Hell, even here in Africa, i can’t help but think that many secretly wish that there was population control amongst the poor BUT -
- if the photo above is proven to be true, the story of poor Feng Jiamei isn’t something that i could remotely understand. It’s so abhorrent that i’ll never find dark enough words to express my disgust and hate for those that would torture a woman like this!
UPDATE – 27 June 2012: Specifics are vague but the head of that clinic has supposedly being fired and employees received demerits. Feng Jiamei will received some compensation. Her husband is in hiding after harassment by local government officials.
