Heavy Metal supporters in South Africa have held their breath since early in 2012 when rumours first emerged that a local appearance by USA metal titans Lamb Of God was imminent. JEFF HANNEMAN, founder member, guitarist and songwriter for thrash metal band, Slayer, died yesterday, May 3 2013. 2 years ago, Hanneman contracted necrotizing fasciitis which may have been initiated by a spider bite. He died from liver failure but it has not yet being determined if there was a link between the two. Hanneman had previously been a pill and cocaine abuser but had given that up years ago.
Damn me for forgetting his name but there are two reasons i most remember a journalist who used to hang with us in Durban (South Africa) in the early Nineties.
