TIM PEPPER is in a dark place. It’d be a better world if his guitar and voice saved him…but if it didn’t we’d still have the dark beauty of these songs to touch our flailing hopes, loss of faith and despair.
Whilst holed up in a Holiday Inn Express in Augusta, Georgia, Tim recorded 5 demos and set them free as a free download called Hotel (The Live EP).
Tim has always been a talented songwriter. He packs his music with sincerity and melody. Sometimes they’re uplifting, not fluffy like clouds but more a cool breeze on a summer’s day. Other times, they’re confessional shadows. This time they’re the latter but casting far deeper than before.
Download ‘Hard As Hell’. It’s as catchy and rhythmic as it is sad. Ironically, you’ll love it. Then you’ll head over to www.TimPepperMusic.com and download everything he’s got (most of it’s for free but this EP only until May22 2012).
Tim’s spoken intro to the track ‘904’ encapsulates the tone of Hotel:
“This is a song about a man and a woman on the same bus…and they’re in love…or at least they think so. But they’re too shy to say anything, or do anything, about it. So they keep riding the bus – forever…and ever. I started writing this song to write a story that wasn’t about me but I think, in the end, my personality came out because I’d be one of them, sitting on the bus, not saying anything.â€
