I’ve become a big fan of the blog, Cover Me, which regularly highlights the best tribute songs around, mostly concentrating on indie, rock and folk. To encourage you to subscribe, here are covers of No Doubt, Patti Smith and Tina Turner that were featured there. Patti Smith’s ‘Because the Night’ is especially cool because of the long intro which had Shirley Manson from Garbage (she’s such a cool lass – loved watching her perform in Cape Town) complimenting Screaming Females‘ Marissa Paternoster. Marissa also lets rip with a great guitar solo at the end. Enjoy!
